Courtney & Kevin’s winter wedding at The Palace at Somerset Park was the perfect way to wrap up our 2017 wedding season. We’re certainly no strangers to The Palace at Somerset Park (where Karis and I tied the knot almost 10 years ago!), and when it comes to large families – I always say, “the more the merrier” :). It’s not every wedding we actually have to put our kitten-herding skills to good use! Courtney’s big day started with an “easy” 3 mile jog, while Kevin spent his morning at the barbershop trying out all kinds of different beard styles. I mean seriously, if you can’t do it on your wedding day, when can you do it? It’s not everyday a bride gets to see her soon-to-be husband with only the manliest handlebar moustache in western civilization…on her wedding day!
But I digress :).
Kevin greeted his soon-to-be wife (clean-shaven, of course) at the Immaculate Conception Church back in their hometown, with the sounds of a lone bagpiper playing outside on the snowy December day. It was a beautiful ceremony full of smiles and stolen glances, followed by a festive celebration at The Palace at Somerset Park. We wrapped up the evening with a surprise solo performance by the groom himself, a musician in his own right. Unbeknownst to pretty much everyone else in the room, Kevin had written a song for his new wife. It was an amazing way to end an already fabulous evening, and an amazing way to kick off their happy life together!
