Valaya + Johnny :: Queens, NY :: Thai Wedding Ceremony (Sneak Peeks)

When Valaya and Johnny first approached me about capturing their Thai Water Ceremony, I’ll have to admit that I was a bit excited and also a tad apprehensive: here I was presented with yet another potential invitation to a celebration where I got to do what I love, but it was all unfamiliar territory. But I finally reasoned (after some thoughtful consideration) that every wedding I’ve ever photographed has been remarkable and unique in their own special way. While the formalities and rituals may vary even among similar cultures, my job function as the photographer never changes – which is to capture the emotions of the day.

But a little research and reconnaissance never hurt anyone :).

It’s as simple as familiarizing myself with the customs…

…and being there to capture it when it happens.

Easy peasy :).
