[Wedding] Jessica & Jon – Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, NY

While growing up in Brooklyn during the 80s, it was a great time to be a Mets fan. My uncles and cousins would all huddle around my grandparents’ apartment on game nights, eyes glued to the TV set and gleefully cheering with every play. I remember as a 6 year old boy, I could recite the entire roster from memory – a feat that hasn’t degraded (too much) in these past 30-odd years. Not too far away in the neighboring borough of Queens, our groom Jon probably shared a similar experience during the 80s. Granted, it’s a bit heart-breaking to watch the Mets play these days – but I know that we love our home teams regardless :).

I still have my old baseball cards, stashed away in large organized binders that are currently slipped between my old college textbooks and photo albums. As far as being a sports fan goes, if there were a scale of 1-10, I’d be somewhere between a .50 and a .75. I love sports; I just don’t have much time to enjoy them as much these days. Jon on the other hand, if there were a scale of 1-10, he’d be somewhere between a gazillion and a bajillion :).

Jessica and Jon met at a wedding several years ago, and the first question that popped out of Jon’s mouth was: “Where did you get that chocolate cake!?!” Romantic, we know :). Jessica, believing this to be an unusual pick-up line from your typical groomsman at your typical wedding, she quickly scurried away – with Jon hungrily in pursuit (of her chocolate cake, of course). Fast forward to the present day, it’s a beautiful summer day in Central Park. Jessica and Jon tied the knot and celebrated their nuptials at the Loeb Boathouse near the Bethesda Fountain & Bethesda Arcade. They didn’t get chocolate cake this evening, but in my professional opinion – they got something much, much better. Here’s a peek of their day.
