When Emma & Peter first planned their very first trip to NYC from waaaay across the pond, they hadn’t anticipated that they would be officially tying the knot. I mean, when you’ve been together for as long as these two have, why not hit two birds with one stone, right? Emma & Peter showed up to their wedding at the NYC marriage bureau in an all-out wedding gown and a neatly-pressed suit. What we didn’t expect were the sensible running shoes our beautiful bride was wearing under her huge wedding gown! This made perfect sense of course, as their photographer/chauffeur/tour guide took these two love birds hiking all over the beautiful must-have locations in/around NYC for their wedding photos: from the gorgeous Brooklyn DUMBO waterfront, to the always-classic Central Park. We always love spending time with our friends across the pond, and we certainly hope we did a reasonably fair job representing this great city to these first-timers!
Kristina & Jeff have been together for longer than most of the married couples that we know (and we know plenty!). When Kristina & Jeff first met, Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” was still getting massive airplay, Borat made its debut on the big screen, and Guitar Hero pretty much made every would-be air-guitarist’s dream come true. A decade later, they never would’ve imagined that they would find themselves braving the elements with yours truly, for a wonderfully warm and fun engagement session at Fort Tryon Park!
When you’ve been doing wedding photography for as long as we have, there’s always that one question that always seems to pop up several times a year: “Where’s your favorite place to photograph?”. Ladies & gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that you’ve been asking the wrong question this entire time. Having photographed my way around the western hemisphere over the years, I can unequivocally say that locations only “sorta kinda” matter [insert doubtful, wavering hand motions here]. The correct question is: “What are your favorite kinds of people to photograph?”, and the answer is “THESE PEOPLE!” [insert jazz hands here]. You know, the kind of people who love life as much as they love each other, folks who don’t take themselves too seriously, and simply want to have fun with their friends and family on one of the happiest days of their lives. When the chemistry between a couple is genuine and sincere, no amount of posing, direction or exotic locations are going to matter: that energy is just waiting to be captured in the photograph. Luckily for me, I was tasked for this honor, and was thrilled to have been an observer (and participant) of Carly & Chris’ fun wedding celebration at the Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City, NJ. And of course, it doesn’t hurt that their gorgeous wedding venue boasts unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline. Just sayin’ :).

When Kelly & Frank planned their wedding celebration at The Tides Estate in North Haledon, they certainly pulled out all the stops. Every little detail was carefully planned out, making it one of the most perfect days in their lives: from the gorgeous reception centerpieces, to the decor, to the most incredible spread of food I’ve EVER seen at a cocktail hour, these folks certainly left no stone unturned. The last time we saw Kelly and Frank, we were in the season of pumpkin spice everything (can’t believe how time flies!). Now with their family and friends in tow on this very special day, this was definitely one wedding everyone would remember for the rest of their lives.

It has been several years since I last set foot on the beautiful grounds of the Mallard Island Yacht Club. With it’s quaint little chapel overlooking one of the most gorgeous views that the Jersey Shore has to offer, it’s hard not to love this place. For weeks prior to their wedding, everyone was keeping a close eye on the weather forecasts, as Lauren & Mike nearly found themselves (and their wedding day) smack dab in the middle of one of the most ferocious hurricane seasons the mid-Atlantic had ever seen. Although a torrential downpour certainly wouldn’t have put a damper on this particular celebration, a stroke of good luck brought us one of the most perfect days for a wedding. This wedding featured some snazzy dance moves, literally every 90s hit from my adolescence, and some of the most amusing speeches I’ve heard in a while. We’re so happy for these two, and we wish them both a lifetime of love, laughter and Springsteen :).
