Oh how we loved working with Nicole and Brian, let us count the ways! Especially considering the perfect storm of coincidences that had to occur for this to happen, we couldn’t have been happier to have them on our calendar. When we finally met them during our initial consult, it was simply love at first sight. Their energy and chemistry together was just off the charts, and unbeknownst to us…that was them on a bad day! A few weeks later, I received a phone call from them with an invitation for lunch…which would take place during our engagement session (of course). That’s one creative way to break it to your photographer that you’re booking them, I suppose :).

Nicole and Brian, thank you for being such superstars in life! We had so much fun playing paparazzi with you guys and we hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them. We hope to hang out with you guys again before your wedding next year. We know it’s going to be such a fantastic party, we can hardly contain ourselves!

We’ve been cranking our post-production pipeline double-time these past two weeks, so we hope to finally get caught up with all our Summer brides! We were originally due for a mini-vacation this weekend, but we’re on a roll and we ain’t stopp’n! We’ll be taking a breather in a few more weeks :).

Happy Friday everyone!

Katie and Jason are both instructors at an international school in Belgium. They’re American transplants from New York and Oregon, respectively. And because I’m a shameless and thick-faced clown, I asked if Jason liked pickles. The short answer is “yes” :). I had only met Katie a few months prior during our initial consult, so we scheduled for a lunch date when they were both going to be in town. As we settled into our wooden booths inside of Puck Fair, we had the opportunity hash out their wedding plans over beers and french fries. A little liquid inspiration and harmless french fries never hurt anyone :).

Katie and Jason, congrats again on your engagement! We hope you enjoyed our little adventure in Soho and these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them. Thank you for spending your day with us, and we can’t wait to see you guys again on your big day!

I’m always amazed with our NY engagements that despite all the usual backdrops on everyone’s checklist, we always manage to find hidden gems on every session. It’s a win-win for everyone :).

Can’t believe it’s Thursday already! What do you guys have planned for the weekend? It’s our first weekend “off” this year and we can hardly contain ourselves! I only wish our lives were glamorous enough to warrant some sort of getaway that involves mojitos and (virgin) daiquiris for a very pregnant Karis. Maybe next month, when we’re all caught up :).

Stay cool, friends!

Behind every shamelessly hilarious guy, there’s a woman standing there with her arms crossed and rolling her eyes (but laughing anyway). I know this story all too well, and Karis will probably agree :). When Sally and Terence approached us about doing their session “on the mainland”, I was totally stoked. While we love the city, it’s nice to occasionally venture out into the wilderness…of upstate New York. Dun-dun-duuuuuuun. It’s a very sentimental location for Sally and Terence, as it is for me. I remember spending many summers up here in Bear Mountain when I was a kid, and it’s been over 20 years since I’ve made my return. They were surprised I agreed to go on this little road trip. But as I see it, everybody comes out a winner :).

Sally and Terence, thank you for taking us out on a road trip down memory lane! We hope you guys enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them. We can’t wait to see you guys again in a few more months. In the meantime, just keep those laughs coming!
Much love friends!

We were looking forward to Bing and Roy’s wedding for quite some time now. Not just for our lil reunion with some old friends, or all the laughing and dancing that was about to go down on one of the most awesomely fantastic nights of their lives – but because they were the first wedding of the season back in my home state of Maryland. Nostalgic feelings aside, we absolutely loved all the DIY details that went into their special day and all the folks who helped make this day memorable.

Happy Monday ya’ll :)

It’s no secret that we shoot under any weather conditions – which includes rain, snow, hurricanes and heat waves. Not every wedding that we shoot will feature 75 degree weather with a few clouds and a cool breeze, which is exactly why we don’t normally wait for those kinds of days for our engagement sessions. For Lauren and John’s engagement, the rain was literally coming in sideways. If I’m not mistaken, the rain may have been going up-ways, if that were even possible.  Nevertheless, these two were such great sports for hanging out with me on a rainy day! The silver lining in all of this? It was only raining for the first half of our session, and it was nice and cloudy for the latter half…and we had all of Hoboken to ourselves :).

Lauren and John, thank you so much for spending a rainy afternoon with yours truly! We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them. We can’t wait to see you guys in a few more months!

As for me, I’m still recovering from yesterday’s wedding – I must’ve lost 20 lbs in sweat alone! But there’s still much work to be done, my friends! Stay tuned for more!

Hope everyone’s weekend is fantabulous :).
